SaDiLegno-Haus - ClimateHouse Award 2010

Client: Samuele Giacometti
Designer: Samuele Giacometti
Builder: Vivere nel Legno – Sauris (UD)
Certification: Casa Clima B+

Notes on the construction site
In April 2010, exactly 10 years ago, CasaSaDiLegno was awarded the CasaClima B+ energy certificate.
Designed by Samuele Giacometti in 2007 according to the SaDiLegno method, the building was constructed in the Pesarina Valley, in the heart of the Pesarine Dolomites. All the wood was supplied from a radius of 12 km, from a forest owned by the Fractional Property Administration of Pesariis, which manages it according to the PEFC quality standard (“Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes”).
The house was subsequently inspected by ENEA, then awarded the CasaClima Award and the Legambiente Green Flag.
In 2011, it became “the first wooden home in the world to be PEFC certified” (there is a FB page).
In 2012, it was presented by PEFC International in Brazil at RIO+20 as an example of true environmental, social and economic sustainability.
As part of the project, in 2013 the first network of companies in the forest-wood supply chain in Italy was launched in Alta Carnia 12-to-Many (there is a FB page “Enterprise networks and wood sustainability: 12-to-Many”).
The young company was invited to participate in EXPO 2015 in Milan, which took place in the pavilion managed by KIP International School.
